Carly + Noah's Rustic Colorful Boho Wedding in Bronson, MI

Nothing is better than when we have a local wedding near Coldwater. Carly and Noah reached out to us about their day at Parham Road Barn in Bronson, MI and we were ecstatic to document their day for them. Carly initially described their day as rustic, boho, and elegant and I think they really nailed everything. Their color palette was absolute perfection, as well as pretty much EVERYTHING about the entire day and evening. They even got lucky and had a great sunset and we were able to sneak out for some extra portraits in the corn field. Carly and Noah were relaxed and really fun to work with and I think having a relaxed approach to your day really lends to the most beautiful photos.

Angela + Logan's Snowy Spring Elopement

When Logan + Angela reached out to me about shooting their intimate forest elopement I knew I was going to be making some really beautiful work. However, I think we all had thoughts of a mild spring day. In true Michigan fashion, there was snow, and it was truly the most magical photogenic snow we could have asked for. They chose to hold their ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends amongst the towering pines at Hoffmaster State Park in Muskegon. They read their snow drenched vows in the stillness of the forest and quiet falling flakes. Special thank you to The Lost Forty; Kayla created a truly stunning bouquet and boutonnière that fit their dark and moody aesthetic perfectly. Do you ever have a moment that feels like haiku? This was truly one of those, and I hope for a moment you can feel what we felt on this day.

Sarah and Dean's Eclectic and Artistic Wedding in Marshall, MI

Sarah and Dean are another couple who we are lucky to call our friends who were married in 2016! Of course, we were over the moon when they inquired about us shooting their day at The Olde Farmhouse Barn in Marshall, MI. Sarah and Dean took a little bit of a non-traditional spin on their day, foregoing a lot of traditions and instead focused on a short sentimental ceremony, and lots of time being present, enjoying THEIR day with guests. I loved this approach because they weren't shuffling from one thing to the next, and were able to be present and enjoy their whole day, and it gave us a lot of freedom to tell the story of their day without interruption. They incorporated a lot of geometric touches + a little bit of a boho feel with the florals and colors, and their wardrobe had a sophisticated vintage inspiration. Sarah is very talented + artistic and her vision for their day came together beautifully, she even hand crafted their favor geometric magnets! (Still my favorite magnets EVER! SO CUTE) Overall I think this is one of our favorite days we have captured because it was truly a representation of Sarah and Dean's personalities and aesthetic and was truly their own.

Enchanted Forest Elopment-My Best Friends Wedding in Grand Ledge, MI

I am working through the backlog of beautiful images I have that deserve to be viewed by the world! This next one is from May 20th 2016 and it was something I had been dreaming about for awhile. My best friend decided to elope in the middle of the woods! Missy and Shawn were looking for a way to have a meaningful, quiet day they could share with each other completely at their own pace. It was one to the most beautiful days we have had the privilege to capture in one of the loveliest spots ever! I think Elopements are absolute hands down GREATEST things ever! Intimate, real, and surrounded by nature <3 It was such a memorable day and we are so happy to have been able to photograph it! I love their fist bump Corey was able to catch (thank you honey ^_~)

Leah + Zach Grand Rapids, Michigan Engagement Session

Leah + Zach

March 19th 2016

Still chipping away at the 2016 stuff, there's quite a bit still......

Sometimes you get really lucky and get to hang and photograph people who TOTALLY get your weird. Leah and Zach were one of those couples. We met by Yesterdog in Grand Rapids on an exceptionally lovely March day. (My absolute FAVORITE time of year to shoot, soft warm light and no overwhelming greens.) We explored the area together, made lots of jokes and took some really great photos!!
