Aimee and Nathan's Backyard Boho Wedding in Montgomery, Michigan

Aimee and Nathan's day was another wedding in 2016 where we felt right at home. We've known Aimee since high school and were ecstatic to photograph their day. Aimee and Nathan opted for an intimate backyard wedding with their family and friends held at Aimee's parents property in Montgomery, Michigan. They had the most heartfelt first look and of course that made for some super sweet images. Aimee and her family did all the decor themselves, which oh my gosh LOOK AT IT! SO STUNNING!!!! They are some of the loveliest boho details we have ever shot!!! Scroll slow they are so good! Their celebration was filled with so much happiness and love and we were so honored to be a part of it!

Sarah and Dean's Eclectic and Artistic Wedding in Marshall, MI

Sarah and Dean are another couple who we are lucky to call our friends who were married in 2016! Of course, we were over the moon when they inquired about us shooting their day at The Olde Farmhouse Barn in Marshall, MI. Sarah and Dean took a little bit of a non-traditional spin on their day, foregoing a lot of traditions and instead focused on a short sentimental ceremony, and lots of time being present, enjoying THEIR day with guests. I loved this approach because they weren't shuffling from one thing to the next, and were able to be present and enjoy their whole day, and it gave us a lot of freedom to tell the story of their day without interruption. They incorporated a lot of geometric touches + a little bit of a boho feel with the florals and colors, and their wardrobe had a sophisticated vintage inspiration. Sarah is very talented + artistic and her vision for their day came together beautifully, she even hand crafted their favor geometric magnets! (Still my favorite magnets EVER! SO CUTE) Overall I think this is one of our favorite days we have captured because it was truly a representation of Sarah and Dean's personalities and aesthetic and was truly their own.

Enchanted Forest Elopment-My Best Friends Wedding in Grand Ledge, MI

I am working through the backlog of beautiful images I have that deserve to be viewed by the world! This next one is from May 20th 2016 and it was something I had been dreaming about for awhile. My best friend decided to elope in the middle of the woods! Missy and Shawn were looking for a way to have a meaningful, quiet day they could share with each other completely at their own pace. It was one to the most beautiful days we have had the privilege to capture in one of the loveliest spots ever! I think Elopements are absolute hands down GREATEST things ever! Intimate, real, and surrounded by nature <3 It was such a memorable day and we are so happy to have been able to photograph it! I love their fist bump Corey was able to catch (thank you honey ^_~)

Giovanna + Terrell's Whimsical Kalamzoo Boho Wedding

Giovanna and Terrell invited me to shoot their day at Martell's on a beautiful Saturday in May 2016 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Rain sprinkled down right before the ceremony providing the most lovely cloud cover that made everything look extra lush. They had an exceptionally beautiful ceremony and the love from all of their close family and friends was palpable.   I was so honored to be part of such an intimate day! Portrait time was a breeze as you can see below these two are naturals! All of their details were so well thought out and just fit the vibe of their day really well! I hope you enjoy this post because I really love everything about their boho-y spring day!

Ally + Jeff's Winter Industrial Boho Wedding in Coldwater, MI

Ally + Jeff

12.12.15

Yep, throwing it back to 2015 for a moment! This day was really special for me to photograph. Ally is a really dear friend of mine and has been such an inspiration for my work, she's just an all around amazing person, makeup artist and stylist. When she asked me to be a part of her day I couldn't resist. I knew she and Jeff intended to move to New York the following Spring and wanted to incorporate a bit of that vibe into their day.

Cloudy, warm and perfect, for December in Michigan we were fortunate to have such an incredible setting for their day. They opted for an intimate wedding with family and close friends plus their sweet pug Biscuit. Their ceremony was held at our cute community center gym, it fit the industrial boho theme perfectly. We chose a really beautiful brick wall downtown for portraits that I adore and then they opted for some additional portraits at dusk which could not have been dreamier with all of the holiday lights.
